A Festival favourite finds a new home where fierce debate will continue over delicious food and wine. Join George Calombaris and Shane Delia and their teams of industry identities as they debate an age old dilemma – is Greek cuisine the basis for all other cuisines?
Ask any Greek, they will tell you that Greeks invented, well, everything. Join us and investigate the history of spaghetti, dumplings and the BBQ as teams unearth the history of modern dining. Enjoy two very different takes on Hellenic cuisine from Melbourne’s favourite Greek restaurants at this one-off dinner designed specifically for the anniversary of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Joe Grbac from The Press Club will be presenting contemporary Greek food next to Travis McAuley from Hellenic Republic’s taverna style cuisine, focusing on one key ingredient for each course. Matched with Greek beverages, this is a chance to taste the development of Greek food over a millennia.

Georgie Porgie Cooking for Kids is part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and is an exciting and informative introduction into cooking. George will teach you how to find the best ingredients, and the secrets behind making a delicious meal. There will be games, quizzes and of course some very yummy food to eat! Suitable for children up to 14 years and is fully supervised.
